Root Farm

3 HaBarbur Street, Ein Sarid

An organic vegetable farm in Ein Sarid that sells leafy greens and root vegetables from a stand by the field on Friday mornings.

Omer Rothschild, the fourth generation of the founders of moshav Ein Vered, went back to working the land after six years of army service, on the family plot that had stood empty for 35 years since its orchard was uprooted. Everything at Root Farm is grown organically, in regenerative farming that feeds the soil, in beds of leafy greens and root vegetables. On Fridays a stand sells the produce straight from the field to the shelf, and on other days, by arrangement, he leads guided tours of the field and hands-on farm work, fitted to the group. Some of the beds are rented to families who live in the moshav.
