Vinny Wine Bar

40 Katzenelson Street, Givatayim

A neighbourhood wine bar on Katzenelson Street, opened in 2022 by a Givatayim family that makes its own Merlot

Vinny began about twelve years ago, its site says, when a small Givatayim family bought 150 kilos of Merlot grapes and made red wine in its yard; the father later bought a small winery near Rehovot with 20 dunams of Merlot, which now makes about 4,000 bottles a year. In 2022 the family opened what its site calls the first wine bar in Givatayim, with more than 100 wines from around the world, cocktails and beers, and food from fish and salads to pizzas and focaccias from the oven; a bottle you liked can be bought to take home. It opens in the evenings from Sunday to Thursday with a happy hour from 18:00 to 19:30, and on Saturday night from 19:00, and on Friday it runs by day as Vinny Cafe. It also holds wine tastings and private events.
