A family-run trout restaurant on islands where the Dan and Hatzbani streams meet, by Road 99 near HaGoshrim, with its own fish farm, smokehouse, deli and café.
Dag Al HaDan is a family business that has run its fish restaurant on the banks of the Hatzbani and the Dan for 35 years. The trout come from its own farm beside the restaurant and are grilled or hot-smoked over cherry and carob wood in the traditional Galilean way; the menu is dairy and pareve, with trout, sea bream and sea bass, smoked-fish starters, salads, pastas and a children's menu. The wood and stone building looks onto the water, tables stand on the banks among willows, plane trees and figs, children cross the little bridges, and peacocks and ducks wander the grounds. Beside it are a café, a deli selling its fish and its smoked fish, spreads and dips, a visitors' centre at the fish farm, and a family campsite on the Hatzbani.
