A Japanese izakaya-style chef's restaurant on Bnei Brit Street in Hod HaSharon, open since 2009.
Yamatoya serves traditional Japanese food beside modern fusion dishes, with a fixed menu, seasonal specials and a choice of drinks from Japan. Its site says it was founded in 2009 by the late chef Aya Imatani, who ran and advised restaurants in Japan, Europe and the United States, and that the kitchen still follows the line she set. The traditional menu runs from grilled rice triangles and natto to teishoku set meals, chirashi, nabe hot pots and donburi. Many dishes are gluten-free, and there is a sushi menu for pregnant women. It is open every day, from noon on weekdays and Fridays and from 13:00 on Saturday.
