Mitzpe Hoshaya, beside Route 77, Hoshaya

A family olive grove and boutique oil maker in Hoshaya, with a visitor centre on Route 77 that opens on Friday mornings for tastings and its oil

Lavi makes extra virgin olive oil from its family grove in the valley between Hoshaya and ancient Zippori, which Shai Lavi planted about thirty years ago. It grows the old Souri variety alongside Picholine from France and Koroneiki from Greece, picks by hand and presses cold within hours, and its oil won a silver medal at the EVO IOOC competition in Italy in 2023. Its visitor centre on Mitzpe Hoshaya, beside Route 77 between the HaMovil and Golani junctions, sells and pours its oils, shows a short film on the way from tree to bottle, and displays oil jars and lamps from the time of King David to the Byzantine period. On Fridays it is open to anyone from 08:00 to 13:00, with the Al HaWadi coffee cart serving in the spice garden next door, and groups can book tastings, a Galilean brunch or workshops on other days.
