Hilf-Tabbash, Ka'abiyye-Tabbash-Hajajre

A guest compound in the yard of a family home on the edge of the Bedouin village of Hilf-Tabbash, above Nahal Zippori, with a restored British railway carriage, a family studio, a khan for groups and village tours

Shevet Ahim, known in English as the Galilee Bedouin Camplodge, is run by Yizhar and Irit Gurion, a Jewish couple who came to live in the Bedouin village of Tabbash in 1996 with the blessing of its mukhtar, Mustafa Tabbash, and built the compound in the yard next to their home. Its site lists three places to sleep: a restored British railway carriage for couples, a studio for families and the White Khan, which sleeps groups of up to 20; the compound also has a tipi and seating corners for workshops and events facing the view. Nahal Zippori runs below it, the Ein Yivka spring is about an hour away on foot, and the Israel Trail and the Sanhedrin Trail pass close by. Guests can add a Bedouin meal from the village, a foraging walk that ends with cooking what was picked, a lantern walk along the Zippori promenade or a tour of Tabbash with Irit, who wrote a book about the mukhtar.
