Mount Kamon, near Karmiel, Kamon

A goat farm on Mount Kamon, above the Beit HaKerem valley, with a glamping resort of 19 units, a spa, a farm-to-table restaurant, a dairy and a shop

Amit Rom climbed Mount Kamon in 1986 with 50 goats to build the farm he dreamed of, and it has grown into a glamping resort of 19 units in the Tzalmon stream nature reserve, a spa, a restaurant that cooks from the farm, a goat dairy, a vegetable garden of two dunams, a visitor centre and shop, and an occupational rehabilitation centre where about 40 people facing mental illness or post-trauma work on the farm. The herd is some 120 goats of the local Baladi and Shami breeds, which graze the woodland every day, and the dairy makes mostly hard cheeses that its site says have won international prizes. The tents are safari and bell tents with air conditioning and private bathrooms, some with a plunge pool or a hot tub on the deck, and there is an accessible built suite and a loft for groups. On Fridays and Saturdays the barn opens with music and plunge pools in season, and the farm runs tours among the goats and chickens, courses in cheese-making, beekeeping and orchards, and private events.
