Gesher HaTzabim Road, by the Alexander Stream, Kfar Vitkin

A family boutique winery beside the Turtle Bridge on the Alexander Stream, with a visitor centre that pours tastings and serves a kosher dairy farm-to-table menu

Vitkin Winery was founded in 2001 by two brothers-in-law, Doron Blogolovsky and Assaf Paz, on the farm of Doron's grandparents, who were among the founders of Kfar Vitkin; Sharona Paz-Blogolovsky, Doron's wife and Assaf's sister, joined in 2003 and runs it. Its site calls it a pioneer of Mediterranean winemaking in Israel, making wine from forgotten varieties such as Carignan and Petite Sirah, and lately Grenache Blanc, from vineyards in Kfar Vitkin and across the country. In 2015 production moved from the family cowshed to a new building near the Turtle Bridge nature reserve, with a visitor centre where guests taste and buy the wines, much of its furniture built from used wine barrels. The kitchen, led by chef Elichai, serves a seasonal dairy menu meant to go with the wine, and the winery hosts private and business events.
