HaShomrim Forest, Kiryat Tiv'on

A coffee cart at the edge of HaShomrim Forest in Kiryat Tiv'on, looking out over the Jezreel Valley, open Thursday to Saturday

Ezra Mizrahi, who lives in Kiryat Tiv'on, built and painted the cart himself on a hilltop at the edge of HaShomrim Forest, where the view opens over the Jezreel Valley. He had worked as a window dresser, photographer, graphic designer, television researcher and wedding producer and ran the council's culture department, and he set the cart up when the pandemic stopped cultural events. He told Coffee Trail he wants it to feel as calm as the beaches of Sinai and northern India. The cart serves coffee, a house drink, sahlab, lassi and fresh juice with brioche, cakes, bagels, Argentine empanadas and a sandwich on bread from the Bluma bakery, Bulgarian cheese and spinach bourekas from Thursday to Saturday and jachnun on Saturdays; a playground and hammocks sit beside it, and Beit She'arim National Park is 2.5 km away.
