Kfar Tikva, Kiryat Tiv'on

A winery on the hillside of Kfar Tikva, in Kiryat Tiv'on, that employs members of the village's community and runs a visitors' centre with tastings and a kitchen

Tulip Winery was founded in 2003 by the Yitzhaki family on the hillside of Kfar Tikva, a small village in Kiryat Tiv'on for people with special needs, and its site says employing members of the community has been part of the winery from the start. In 2014 the Weisman family joined as an equal partner; Roy Yitzhaki, who founded it, runs it, and the winemaker Dana Benny studied in Florence and worked in Bordeaux, South Africa and California. The visitors' centre opens Sunday to Friday from 10:00 to 16:00: guests choose a guided tasting, from 75 shekels for five wines, or glasses and bottles at the table, at the bar, at a long knights' table or in the garden, with a kitchen menu of bread, cheeses, small dishes and desserts. The shop sells its wines, archive wines and deli goods, and groups can book workshops and a talk by the founder.
