Bustan Al HaWadi is a zimmer at the end of Merhav Am, a religious community in Ramat Negev, on the edge of a wadi; though it lies under the owners' house it has its own privacy and a desert view, with sunrise over the hills, the moonrise mid-month and a sky full of stars. Its builders modelled it on the high mountains of Sinai, green orchards in wadis ringed by stone terraces: Micha built all the stone terraces outside and planted the orchard and garden, and Tzruya built nearly all the wooden furniture, the kitchen and the beds among it. The community has a synagogue, mikvehs and a grocery open all day, and walking and cycling routes leave from the door.
