A volunteer-run coffee cart at the entrance to Mesilat Zion, set up in memory of Amit Yitzhak David, with all its profits going to scholarships

Cafe Amit is a social coffee cart in a quiet, green corner at the entrance to Moshav Mesilat Zion, two minutes' drive from Route 1, set up by the family and friends of Amit Yitzhak David, who grew up in Beit Shemesh and was murdered at the Nova festival on 7 October 2023. Volunteers run it, his brother and sister, cousins, an aunt and friends from childhood and the army among them, and all its profits go to scholarships and equipment for boarding-school pupils, soldiers and students. The menu has frena sandwiches, toasts and salads, savoury pastries, cakes and tarts, fresh juices and coffee from a local roaster, with jachnun and kade on Saturdays. It opens from Thursday to Saturday.
