Michmanim Honey is a small home apiary that its owners set up in 1980, when they moved to Mitzpe Mikhmanim; over the years their orchard grew and now gives Galilean olive oil as well, which they sell beside the honey in the small shop at their khan, Derech HaTanach El HaTeva. Because the apiary is small, it moves with the bees after the blossom, and gathers honey from wildflowers, za'atar, Christ's thorn, eucalyptus, avocado, sage, carob and citrus; each kind is collected in its own barrel and packed separately, with no processing and no heating. Besides honey it sells propolis, and pollen and royal jelly kept frozen, in gift packs, festive jars and personal presents. The honey is also sold in local shops in the area, and visitors are invited to Mikhmanim to see, learn and buy straight from the apiary; groups can book a visit with a glass hive and a guided tasting.
