Slowness is a guesthouse in Moran, a small, quiet kibbutz in the Lower Galilee, set up in the spirit of the rest homes of old: its English site calls it an old guesthouse and a communal kitchen, restored into a countryside retreat. Its 30 rooms, 26 doubles and 4 suites, are spread over six low buildings in natural woodland, and it is meant for adults, from the age of 16. There are hot pools, a sauna and a fire, a treatment room where therapists from the area work, and an art room beside the restaurant whose drawers are full of materials. A studio holds yoga and movement classes through the week, free for hotel guests, and the place also hosts retreats, workshops and performances. The hotel, the restaurant, the lounge and the café are open all day, and a shop and pantry sells wine, olive oil, jams, cheeses, fruit and vegetables from local makers beside things made in house. It says guests can come for two days and recommends five, with a partner or a friend, or alone.
