Moshav Nir Akiva, Nir Akiva

An ecological retreat in Moshav Nir Akiva in the northern Negev, with two cabins for couples and two khans for groups, dipping pools, an orchard and organic herb gardens

Kfar Navon calls itself an ecological, spiritual holiday centre in the northern Negev, an hour from the centre of the country, and invites groups, families and couples to get away and sleep under the stars. Its grounds have dipping pools, barbecue and campfire corners, an orchard and organic herb gardens, a sandpit for children, shaded corners for lounging and open country for walkers and cyclists. Couples sleep in two wooden cabins with jacuzzis; groups in the Small Khan, for up to 10, or in the large khan, a former grain barn that now houses a hydroponic nursery and a culture centre, with a mud-built room opposite, for up to 50 overnight and 100 at day events. Its site points guests to the anemones of the Ruhama Badlands reserve from December to April, on foot or by bike on single trails from the village, and to a farmers' market, a pizza inn, horse riding and ceramics workshops within walking distance in the moshav; since the war began in October 2023 it has hosted volunteers rebuilding the region's farms and soldiers resting after long service.
