Uncle Sam is an Israeli chain of American-style fast food with two branches, this one at 8 HaShikmim Street in Or Akiva and one in Tirat Carmel; its site says a third is on the way in Netanya. The site opens with American fried chicken and says the food is kosher. By its own account the chain was started by a young Israeli entrepreneur who came back from a long stay in the United States and wanted to bring the fast food he found there in a kosher version. Guests eat in the branch, take away or order delivery. The branch is open Sunday to Thursday from 11:00 to 23:00, is closed on Friday, and reopens on Saturday night half an hour after Shabbat ends.
