Mia Luce, "my light", is a garage winery that Kobi Arviv, its owner and winemaker, founded in 2008; its site says the winery is in the family's home in Or Akiva. Arviv began with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, made his first Carignan in 2009 and moved to Mediterranean varieties: Syrah, Marselan and the white Colombard. He ferments with the grape stems and with whole clusters and ages the wine in large oak barrels. The winery makes a white, Blanc, and three reds: the blend C.S.M, Syrah & Stems and Whole Cluster Marselan. Visits are by appointment only, for couples, groups and private or business events, and on Tuesday evenings the yard opens for wine by the glass, by the bottle or as a tasting flight with small dishes, in two sittings booked ahead.
