Kibbutz Ortal, Ortal

Rural lodging and glamping run by Kibbutz Ortal in the north of the Golan Heights, with wooden cabins, guest rooms and tents a few minutes' walk from the kibbutz's winery and horse farm

Kibbutz Ortal lets rooms on the kibbutz itself, a renewing cooperative kibbutz 915 metres up between Mount Shifon and Mounts Avital and Bental. Its rooms page lists 40 to 42 guest rooms and 10 wooden cabins with jacuzzis and fireplaces, and a glamping site of 30 designed tents in a grove of pine and oak looking towards Tel Shifon, a dormant volcano. Breakfast is served in the kibbutz dining room, two minutes' walk from the rooms, under the kashrut of the Golan regional council, and guests have the use of the seasonal pool at neighbouring Kibbutz Ein Zivan. A synagogue stands next to the lodging, the kibbutz store is five minutes' walk away, and there is a charging point for electric cars in the car park. Its site says snow settles there one to three times a winter, mostly between mid-January and mid-February.
