Abu Berkovich is a hummus place whose owner, by the story on its site, grew up in downtown Haifa, fixed his taste at Said's in the Akko market, studied cooking and then opened a small shop in Ramat HaSharon; the site says it reached 20 years in May 2023. After 22 years at 9 Ussishkin Street, with the building about to come down for urban renewal, it moved to 40 Sderot Bialik, beside the city hall square, with the same staff and the same recipe. The hummus is of the Galilee kind, cooked every day and ground through the day. The menu keeps to the Akko market style: masabacha, ful, hummus with mushrooms or cauliflower, shakshuka, falafel and salads.
