The Way Inn is a compound of old stone buildings on a cobbled alley with no cars in the Artists' Quarter, three minutes' walk from the town centre. Chef Rony BarEl and his wife Gita Zohara, who settled in Safed in 1996, made it out of their own home, once the house of the writer Benjamin Tammuz and later of the artist Hannah Levi, and two neighbouring properties. The ten suites are named after the sefirot of the kabbalistic Tree of Life and fitted out by local craftsmen with vintage furniture, and they have no televisions, by design. Guests have rooftop patios facing the Galilee hills and the sunset, a Turkish hammam with a steam sauna and a heated marble table, and a spa; the restaurant hosts groups and private events by arrangement.

Ancient stone buildings, tucked between sheltered courtyards, house ten stunning studio and family suites.
Ten studio and family suites, each named after one of the sefirot of the kabbalistic Tree of Life: Gevurah, Hesed, Tiferet, Netzach, Hod, Yesod, Malchut, Chokhmah, Bina and Daat. Each has an en-suite bathroom and cotton linen, and none has a television; the whole compound can also be rented as one.
