84 Nahal Sorek Street, Moshav Tal Shahar, the Einy farm, Tal Shahar

A boutique winery of the Einy family farm at Moshav Tal Shahar in the Sorek valley, with a visitor centre over the vineyard and about 10,000 bottles a year

Peer Winery was founded in 2014 on the Einy family farm at Moshav Tal Shahar, which Victor and Aliza Einy set up in the summer of 1964; the second generation planted the vineyard and the third, Ofir and Shahar, runs the winery today. It takes its name from Beit Peer, the Talmud-era Jewish village on whose remains the moshav was built, and makes about 10,000 bottles a year of whites, orange wines, varietals and blends, sold only in its own shop. Winemaker Ariel Beer also leads the winery's kosher wine school, and chef Zhenya Alexandrovich cooks meat, fish and vegetables from the smokers and grills for its meals and events. The visitor centre, which reopened in full after closing on 7 October 2023, has an air-conditioned hall, a covered balcony over the vineyard and a grape arbour for picnic baskets.
