Cheers on Allenby Street opened in 2001, its site says, to give guests an uncompromising rock and roll bar with very good service, and it counts itself among the oldest bars in Tel Aviv. The room is a classic English bar with a lot of wood and a warm, family feel, filled with regulars and passers-by of every age. There is a long drinks list, beers from around the world, a large whisky shelf and cocktails, a pool table and rock music from every era. A food window serves pizzas on hand-made dough, a corned beef toast in sweet challah and bar snacks; its younger sibling is the Cheers bar in Florentin, opened in 2009.
