A bistro and wine bar at the northern end of Ibn Gabirol Street, near HaYarkon Park, with a wine cellar and a weekday happy hour

El Vecino is a bistro and wine bar that opened in 2013 at the northern end of Ibn Gabirol Street, close to HaYarkon Park. Its site says it comes from the makers of Chateau HaShual and HaZorik, is the renewed incarnation of the old Bar HaShachen, and seats guests at the bar, on the covered porch, outside or in the wine cellar. The cellar holds wines from Israeli boutique wineries and from abroad, and the kitchen, led by chef Idan Avni, cooks a varied menu from local produce, from cheeses and small plates to burgers, pasta and steaks from the charcoal grill. From Sunday to Thursday its booking page lists a happy hour from 18:00 to 19:15, with one plus one on wine, beer and selected dishes.
