The flagship café of the Israeli coffee roaster Cafe Algier on Bialik Square, with seats on a balcony facing the square's fountain

Cafe Algier was founded in 2012 by people who had run coffee training and quality for an Italian coffee brand and set out to roast an independent Israeli brand; the name comes from the family's roots in Algeria. Its first café was the one it opened for the Wix company at the Tel Aviv port in 2015, and today it roasts blends and single origins and supplies coffee to more than twenty cafés, coffee carts and delis around the country. The flagship on Bialik Square is where all five of its coffees can be tasted and coffee is ground to take home, with wine by the glass, beer, handmade savoury pastries and vegan sweets. On weekends it holds acoustic shows and sales events, and on Friday and Saturday it also serves sandwiches.
