A small bistro by chef Eyal Mermelstein in the centre of Tel Aviv, cooking Mediterranean and Portuguese-influenced dishes, with wines and ports

Tchernichovsky 6 is a bistro on Tchernichovsky Street in the centre of Tel Aviv, which its site calls a quiet, pleasant corner in the heart of the bustling city. Chef Eyal Mermelstein builds the menu on influences gathered on his travels around Portugal, combining Portuguese cooking traditions with the familiar European bistro and fresh, seasonal produce, from octopus salad and rissóis de camarão to fish fillets, Portuguese stews and steaks. The wine list includes wines, ports and liqueurs, and the restaurant also holds wine tastings and live shows. Its own pages give its address as 5 Tchernichovsky Street, and its wine shop and bar, Porto, is at number 6.
