TYO is a Japanese chef's restaurant in a lounge atmosphere, led by the Japanese chef and sushi master Yama-san. For the last three of its nine years it has been at the edge of Neve Tzedek, in a 120-year-old building listed for preservation. The menu covers traditional Japanese cooking: raw fish, a wide choice of sushi, tempura, the grill and the chef's stews. Inside, the walls are red brick, with a patio, seats at an intimate bar, a slightly raised stage and a gallery above that works as a private room for 18.
