Cafe Melchett is the restaurant of Beit Melchett, a compound on Derech HaLord that also holds an events hall and a VIP room, and its site describes a roomy, shaded seating area surrounded by green and the blossom of the citrus groves around it. Chef Shlomi Alfasi writes the menu: breads baked on site, homemade sandwiches, salads from local produce, pastries from the oven and coffee from a blend made in the Mahane Yehuda market, with a vegan menu, organic drinks, shakes and juices squeezed on the spot. A lunch menu of pizzas, pastas, salads and fish starts at noon, and on Friday mornings it serves an Israeli breakfast with dishes such as bourekas-sabich and burrata. The room also sells Israeli products: wines, spreads, jams, oils and spirits, among them the first Israeli whisky, and its VIP room takes family or business events of up to 22 people.
