A goat farm and dairy on Road 40 near Tlalim, the first farm on the Negev Wine Route, with a dairy restaurant in joined train carriages
Kornmehl Farm was founded on 1 October 1997, the eve of Rosh Hashanah, by Anat and Daniel Kornmehl, graduates of the faculty of agriculture, and was the first farm set up on the Negev Wine Route; Daniel trained as a cheesemaker in Israel and in France and makes traditional cheeses suited to the local climate alongside his own takes on French ones. Its restaurant opened in 2007 in passenger train carriages joined together, and its dishes are built on the farm's own goat cheeses through the seasons, some of them made for the kitchen alone: cheese plates, filled filo, a whole Hagar cheese on baked bread, pizza and kanafeh. Everything is made in its own kitchen without preservatives. Visitors can watch the goats being milked between 9:30 and 11:00, and the farm shop sells its cheeses by weight. It is a working farm, so pets cannot come in.
