Farm 48, Moshav Tzafririm, Tzafririm

A family winery in a converted farmyard in Moshav Tzafririm, between the Elah Valley and the Judean hills, making wine only from local grapes

Zafririm Winery opened in 2004 in the yard of a farm in Moshav Tzafririm, where the old chicken coop was turned into a cold room, a production room and a space for guests, beside small plots of olives and vines. Its site says it now makes about 10,000 bottles a year, of Syrah, Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Zinfandel, blends, whites and rosé, all from grapes grown in the narrow valleys of the Hachlil and Elah streams, picked by hand. It works under the Judean hills appellation and since 2021 has planted a new vineyard of its own on the family's farm plot. Visitors taste four wines in the visitors' centre, with a snack platter for two if they like, or join a vineyard tour that ends with a guided tasting.
