Frequently asked questions
How do I type in Hebrew without a Hebrew keyboard?
Use the keyboard on this page: tap the letters, or type on your own keyboard and each key gives the Hebrew letter an Israeli keyboard puts there. Then copy the text into an email, a document or a message.
How do I type the final letters?
They have keys of their own on the Israeli keyboard: ך on L, ם on O, ן on I, ף on the semicolon and ץ on the full stop. Hebrew software does not change a letter to its final form for you.
How do I add vowel points?
Open the vowel points with the key left of the space bar, type a letter, then tap the point that goes under or over it. A letter can take more than one mark, for example a dagesh and a vowel.
Why are the Hebrew letters not on the matching English keys?
The Israeli layout puts the most used letters under the strongest fingers, not where they sound alike. Shin sits on A and alef on T. Phonetic layouts that match the sounds exist, but the standard one is what every keyboard sold in Israel prints.
Is my text saved or sent anywhere?
No. It stays in your browser and is gone when you close the page, so copy it before you leave.
