Likud won 27 of the 120 seats in the election of 2026.

Likud is the main party of the Israeli right. Menachem Begin and Ariel Sharon founded it in 1973 as an alliance of right-wing parties, and its win in 1977 was the first time the left lost power in Israel.

Its leaders have included the prime ministers Menachem Begin, Yitzhak Shamir, Ariel Sharon and Benjamin Netanyahu, who leads it today. For the election of 2026, Gideon Sa'ar's New Hope merged into it.
