A Levantine meat and fish restaurant inside an ancient fortress in Old Acre, among bare stone walls and great arches
Roots is set inside an ancient fortress in Old Acre, built of bare stone walls decorated with great arches. Its kitchen is led by chef Darel Ben Nevat, known as Deri, from the north, who with the other owners, natives of the city, gives a fresh reading of the dishes they grew up on at home, in an up-to-date Levantine kitchen that its site says is kosher. The menu has lamb, veal and other meats beside fresh fish, with produce brought straight from the market, and meals for children. The hall takes private events of up to 300 guests, and the restaurant suggests booking a table ahead.
