19 Derech Hefer, Beit Yitzhak (the Turkiz compound), Beit Yitzhak-Sha'ar Hefer

The café at the heart of Turkiz, a rural-style furniture and design compound on Derech Hefer in Beit Yitzhak, with a covered wooden deck and a Moroccan lounge

Turkiz began in 1994 as a small home-design shop in Moshav Beit Yitzhak and grew into a compound of rural-style furniture and design, with a furniture gallery, a workshop that makes lamps to order, a housewares and gift shop, a women's boutique and the café at its centre. The café is decorated in a colourful ethnic style, with seats inside, in a Moroccan lounge, or out on a covered wooden deck. Breakfasts are served until noon, among them an Israeli breakfast with two eggs, salads and spreads and a cheese knafeh with eggs, and through the day there are shakshuka, salads, sandwiches, pastas and main dishes of chicken off the grill, shawarma and schnitzel. It also hosts private events of up to 50 people, with dairy, meat or vegan menus.
