Burj Road, Burj Binyamina, Binyamina-Giv'at Ada

A breakfast-and-lunch garden restaurant at Burj Binyamina, the restored Ottoman khan south of the town, among lawn terraces and avocado orchards

Bohoraim is the restaurant in the garden of Burj Binyamina, set between grass terraces, avocado orchards and the site's historic buildings, and its name runs the Hebrew words for breakfast and lunch together. Its site says the khan was built in the 18th and 19th centuries under Ottoman rule on the remains of a first and second century settlement, that Kaiser Wilhelm II camped there for a night in 1898 on his way from Haifa to Jaffa, and that Baron Rothschild later bought the land and divided it among 27 farmers from Zichron Ya'akov, who lived in the khan through the working week. The menu is built on local Israeli produce and Golan beef: shakshuka, Turkish pide, an English breakfast called Charles III, a schnitzel named for Wilhelm, entrecôte, trout and desserts such as Damascus malabi and pecan pie, with Carmel wines, Alexander beer and Carmel arak. It is open from 9:00 to 14:00 Monday to Thursday and until 15:00 on Friday, and the compound also hosts events and shows.
