A resort hotel on 62 dunams of gardens in Caesarea, built by Baron Rothschild in the 1960s and renovated, with pools, a spa and art across its grounds.
The Dan Caesarea was built by Baron Rothschild for the jet set of the 1960s and has been renovated into a resort, with 116 rooms and suites, each with a balcony looking out to Caesarea and the sea, on 62 dunams of gardens with an orchard, pools, a gym, a spa and a golf course beside it. Art runs across the grounds: 15 sculptures by Yaacov Dorchin, works by Israeli artists in the public spaces, changing exhibitions of the Gordon Gallery and a life-size vehicle by Ron Arad at the entrance. Chef Ofir Dvir runs its kitchens: a dining room for breakfast and dinner, the dairy Salon restaurant with French techniques and Mediterranean flavours, the Imperial Palms cocktail bar by the pool and a mini mart for pastries and sandwiches. It welcomes pets, dogs in particular, for 200 shekels a night, and parking outside is free.
