Four hand-built guest units in the home of a family of artists in Ezuz, a village at the end of the road on a hill in the western Negev.
Studio Tobiana was founded 14 years ago by Pierre Tobiana, an actor and musician from the Théâtre du Soleil, and Heli Tobiana, a circus artist who was part of the French circus Archaos, who built their house in Ezuz by hand and raised their five children there. The family hosts guests itself in four units built one after another around courtyards: the Desert Suite with a hot tub and a patio, the timber Moon Loft, the Desert Pavilion for groups and the Desert Room for up to four. Its pages describe Ezuz as a rock desert with little artificial light and a great deal of quiet, with a bird hide in the village, wild donkeys passing by, a goat farm and a café run by a French couple. Heli gives yoga classes on request, the family can arrange space for retreats and Pierre's recording studio for musicians, sun-dried towels and handmade soap come with the stay, and firewood for the barbecue can be arranged ahead.
