The kibbutz hotel of HaGoshrim in the north of the Hula valley, built on the remains of an emir's winter palace beside the streams of the Dan, with a spa and a sculpture garden.
The hotel grew out of a rest home that kibbutz member Ora Reis proposed in 1952, on the remains of the winter palace of Emir Fa'our of the al-Fadl tribe, and keeps the palace's arches and stonework. Its grounds hold a natural waterfall, a restored flour mill and the stone sculptures of the late Arie Ashkenazi, a member of the kibbutz, and guests can walk into the Valley of the Vanishing River, a reserve the kibbutz restored. The restaurant cooks Galilean and Mediterranean food from local produce, and the hotel bar serves dairy meals and drinks. A 600 square metre spa in the boutique wing has ten treatment rooms, a Turkish hammam, a dry sauna and an outdoor jacuzzi, and the sports centre has a gym, a basketball hall, an indoor heated pool and a seasonal outdoor pool. Through the year it runs themed weekends and festivals with shows, talks and chefs.
