La Goffre is a chain of Italian ice cream with a French air, and this branch is at 37 Ben Gurion Avenue in Haifa's German Colony. Its site says it believes good ice cream must be made on the spot by people mad about ice cream, and tells its founding story: a young man from a family of gelato makers in southern Tuscany who went to study ice cream in France, and a young woman from a family of Belgian confectioners whose waffle shop had passed from one generation to the next for over a century; one evening his ice cream spilled onto her waffle. Its menu runs from scoops of ice cream to Belgian waffles, crêpes, Dutch pancake balls, churros and filled cookies. The Haifa branch opens every day at noon and closes at midnight, and at 01:00 on Friday night.
