Moshav HaYogev, HaYogev

A family boutique winery in Moshav HaYogev in the Jezreel Valley, whose visitor centre pours tastings beside a farm-to-table menu of cheeses and small dishes

HaYogev 8 belongs to the Doron family: Gil and Hadas Doron founded it in 2020, Livnat Doron, an accountant who left high tech to study winemaking at Tel Hai, manages it and makes the wine, and Yonatan Koren is its head winemaker. It makes about 50,000 bottles a year of whites, rosés and fruity reds such as Malbec, Grenache, Syrah and Tempranillo, works as a service winery for other winemakers, and around it the family planted a vineyard and an olive grove and set up a honey extraction room. The visitor centre pours tastings with the team's explanations, beside a menu of cheese platters, sourdough bread and tapas built on produce from the moshav: hydroponic greens from Carmelim, labneh from a local dairy, berries and artichokes from neighbouring farms. Guided tours of the vineyard and the winery go out on Thursdays and Fridays at 11:00.
