Lotan Desert Travel Hotel is the guest lodging of Kibbutz Lotan, founded in 1983 by new immigrants of the Reform movement and Israeli Nahal soldiers, and home to its Center for Creative Ecology. The kibbutz's Hebrew page speaks of 52 air-conditioned rooms, studios and holiday apartments for families, and its English page of 24 rooms and an apartment; each has a private shower, a kitchenette with a fridge and a microwave, a television and a shaded seat outside, and the walls are finished in decorative mud plaster. The regional council's tourism site says breakfast is served at the Eco-bar in the Eco-Kef. Guests have the kibbutz pool in summer, basketball and football courts, a disc-golf course and the Eco-Kef playground, and are invited to the kibbutz's Friday-night Kabbalat Shabbat and communal dinner. The kibbutz lies on a bird migration route, and the site lists birding among the hotel's activities.
