4 Har Ardon Street, Spice Route Quarter, Mitzpe Ramon

A wine bar, shop and event space in the Spice Route Quarter that pours only wine from Israel's desert, with cheeses and Negev produce.

Midbar Yain is a bar, shop and event space on Har Ardon Street, in the Spice Route Quarter, that serves only wine from Israel's desert: the wines of Negev and Arava wineries alongside cheeses, olive oil, dates and other Negev produce. It was opened by Gabriel, Shahar and Yinon, who by their own account moved to Mitzpe Ramon in recent years out of love for the Negev and a simpler way of life. A tasting of four wines from different wineries comes with a talk on the history of wine in the Negev, from the Nabataeans to today, and groups book ahead. On Fridays, just before Shabbat comes in, it holds sunset shows by local musicians, and on holidays and weekends it hosts one-night pop-ups: concept dinners, lectures, workshops and cocktail evenings. The space can be hired for private and company events, and its mobile bar of Negev wines travels to events.
