10 Nahal Tsihor Street, Merkaz Ye'elim, Mitzpe Ramon

A café, bar and restaurant founded in 1987, now in the Merkaz Ye'elim centre, with a long menu of barbecue, pasta and pizza and a large bar of draught and boutique beers.

HaHavit was founded in 1987 by a couple, Miko and Avital, and by its own account went from a bar, pub and party place in its early years to a bar-restaurant with a homely atmosphere. In 2016, when the accessibility law came in, it moved to its present home in the Merkaz Ye'elim centre on Nahal Tsihor Street. The menu runs from light starters, salads and sandwiches to pastas, pizzas and barbecue such as home-made kebab, entrecôte steak and lamb chops, in large portions, and the bar has draught beers and a large choice of boutique beers from Israel and abroad. Music, one of Miko's great loves by the restaurant's account, is part of the place, and its regulars range from residents and soldiers to hikers and travellers on the road to and from Eilat.
