Farmers' market

Jabotinsky Street, Ramla

Ramla's covered market on Jabotinsky Street, more than a century old, with produce stalls, delis and some of the town's best-known places to eat

Ramla market was set up at the end of the Ottoman period and renovated under the British, and the municipality has since renovated it again and roofed it against the summer sun, says the town's tourism site. Its stalls sell fruit and vegetables at the lowest prices the hawkers can shout, spices not found in a supermarket and cold lemonade, and among them are delis such as Carmel and Sons, pickles and homemade amba and harissa since 1979, and the Mosseri family's cheeses and smoked fish. It is open every day except Saturday. Its eateries serve Turkish bourekas, Iraqi kebab and kubbeh, Tunisian sandwiches and malabi. In May 2025 Maariv's Nir Kipnis came by train, a ride of twenty-odd minutes from Tel Aviv and half a kilometre's walk from Ramla station, bought a large box of cherry tomatoes for 10 shekels and 20 pitas for 15, and asked whether it is the best market in Israel.
