Na'aman Winery was founded in 2004 by Rami and Bettina Naaman, who moved from Ramat HaSharon to Ramot Naftali in 2001 and built a compound there of an old stone Galilean house, Bettina's art studio and the winery. Rami Naaman, a film director and screenwriter and a former high-tech manager, studied winemaking and trained as a cellar master at Tel Hai College. The winery sits in an underground building made to look like a cave of rough plaster and stone, and makes about 10,000 bottles a year of the Bordeaux varieties, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot, from vineyards about 420 metres up beside the house and at the foot of Mount Yahmur; the harvest, sorting and bottling are done by the family and volunteers, and its site says its 2024 wines were picked by volunteers under fire. The Naamans initiated the Netto Wine charter for wine with as few additives as possible and full disclosure, and all the winery's wines are made under it. Visits on Fridays and Saturdays, booked ahead, go behind the scenes of the winemaking and tell the family's story and the history of wine in the Galilee, in Hebrew, English or French.
