Boker Valley Farm

חוות נחל בוקר

Guest house · No kosher certificate

Road 40, between the Tlalim and Halukim junctions, about 5 km from Sde Boker, Sde Boker

A family desert farm with five secluded cabins, a group khan and a group tent, beside Road 40 in the Boker valley, about five kilometres from Sde Boker.

Boker Valley Farm was founded in September 1999 by Moshe and Hilda Zohar as one of the Negev's lone farms, 550 metres above sea level in the Boker valley. That summer the family planted 20 dunams of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot; the vineyards have since given way to fields of organic vegetables beside the farm, and most of the family still live there and run both the farm and the lodging. Guests stay in five cabins facing the valley: three hillside lodges with a bath on the deck, the Sternbergia cabin for a couple on the highest hill and a family cabin that sleeps five. Groups can take the round wooden khan, for up to 30 people, or a separate tent compound, each sold to one group at a time. Stays are for lodging only: each cabin comes with a box of local products, and the cabins share a kitchenette and a hut with dining tables, armchairs and Wi-Fi. Its home page says the farm holds a business licence for lodging and for selling alcoholic drinks.
