A kosher Japanese and Asian meat restaurant on Ben Yehuda Street in the Old North, named for its house number in Japanese, with a sushi bar, ramen and wok dishes and a separate sushi line for pregnant women

Nini Hachi is a kosher Japanese and Asian restaurant at 228 Ben Yehuda Street, in the northern part of Tel Aviv's Old North. Its name is the house number in Japanese: ni, ni, hachi, two, two, eight. Yoav Valin and Udi Romanovsky founded it more than a decade ago; its website says both have worked in restaurants for more than 15 years and run some of Israel's leading ones, and that they set out to give Tel Aviv a young, colourful kosher restaurant for the traditional public. Their company was registered in December 2013, and mako wrote in July 2026 that the restaurant has been open for more than 12 years. Its kashrut is the Tel Aviv-Yafo rabbinate's, for meat. The menu is built around a large sushi bar: rolls of salmon, tuna and white fish, nigiri, sashimi, hand rolls and poke bowls, with house rolls such as the Bamba roll of baked salmon and peanut butter and the Hinoki, a roll half a metre long, which mako described in July 2026 as a hit on social media. Beside them are ramen in a goose and chicken broth, kuay tiew and tom kha soups, gyoza, teppanyaki fish, skewers and wok noodles and rice. It keeps a vegan menu and a gluten-free one, and a separate sushi line for pregnant women, which it set up a few months after opening with the Meah food safety institute: its own work surface, board, knife and rolling mat, with rolls of vegetables and baked or fried fish, which go out for delivery under a pink sticker. The restaurant has two floors and outdoor seating; upstairs there are two seating areas and a counter looking down on Ben Yehuda Street, and its booking page says the floor can be closed for private events of up to 40 guests. From Sunday to Thursday between 12:00 and 17:00 it serves a lunch in the style of a table opener, and on Tuesdays its cocktails are two for one all day. It closes for Shabbat: on Friday it sends out deliveries and takes pickup orders until 16:00, and it opens again about an hour after Shabbat ends. Its deliveries go out from its own delivery kitchen next door, at number 226, to Tel Aviv-Yafo, Ramat Gan and Givatayim. It has two sister restaurants, Nini Chu in Petah Tikva and Nini Kai in the Royal Garden hotel in Eilat, and mako wrote that the group's menus are developed by a Japanese chef and chef Maya Lavi. Time Out included it in August 2025 among the 17 most recommended kosher restaurants in Tel Aviv, and Channel 13 included its lunch in a round-up of the city's business lunches in February 2026.

Sources disagree on these hours

These are the hours on its website: Sunday to Thursday from 12:00 to 23:30, and on Saturday night from about an hour after Shabbat ends until 23:00. On Friday it takes delivery and pickup orders only, until 16:00, and its Ontopo booking page has the restaurant closed that day. Ontopo shows it open from 12:00 to midnight from Sunday to Thursday and from 20:00 to midnight on Saturday, and Rest has it opening half an hour after Shabbat and closing at midnight. Its Google listing, as Wanderlog copies it, gives 12:00 to 23:30 from Sunday to Thursday, 09:00 to 17:00 on Friday and 20:00 to 23:30 on Saturday. Wolt delivers from it from 11:45 to 23:00 from Sunday to Thursday, from 11:00 to 17:00 on Friday and from 19:30 to 23:00 on Saturday, and the restaurant's own ordering page takes orders until 23:20, and until 16:30 on Friday: those are ordering hours. d.co.il gives office hours that are not the restaurant's.
