Chef Orel Kimchi's restaurant in Neve Tzedek since 2013, in an old stone building with an open kitchen at its centre and a green garden

Popina is a modern chef's restaurant in Neve Tzedek, opened in 2013 by chef Orel Kimchi in an old building of stone walls and retro stained glass, with a green garden. Its open kitchen stands in the middle of the room, so diners can talk to the chef and his team. Its site says Kimchi was the chef of Cavalier in Jerusalem, worked for Joël Robuchon in Paris, trained at Arzak in San Sebastián and won S.Pellegrino's prize for the best young chef in the world under 30. Besides the menu there is a six-course tasting menu, served every evening it is open until 22:30 with no need to book it ahead.
