Conatus Yoga was founded in 2017 by Noa, a yoga teacher and touch therapist with two degrees in philosophy, who named it after Spinoza's word for a thing's striving to preserve itself. It began in a house that was half home and half carpentry shop in an alley in Florentin, and after a missile fell beside the building on 7 October 2023 the studio spent five months moving between other rooms before finding its new home on Bat Ami Street in the Noga quarter of Jaffa. The studio sits on a quiet pedestrian street without cars, near the Gesher Theatre and the fountain and two minutes from the light rail, with a changing room, a treatment room and space for bicycles. Classes of 60 to 70 minutes are booked through its app, and its therapists give 50-minute holistic Swedish massages, Thai massages and private yin yoga sessions in the treatment room. Tea and homemade cards are part of every visit, according to its founder's page.
