El Rancho is a kosher meat and fish restaurant that brings together South American cooking and modern Israeli food. It stands on the ruins of the old city of Tiberias, next to the city's restored archaeological park, in a building of old basalt stone. Its speciality is ageing meat and grilling it over hot charcoal in front of the diners, with house bread, salads, starters and desserts and wines from Israel and abroad. Its page says it has a reputation of more than 40 years and was lately renovated outside and given a new menu; it also sells fresh meat to take away, and it hosts events of 200 to 250 guests, with a VIP room for up to 12.
