She moved to Palestine in 1912 and trained as a teacher in Jerusalem. She taught in Petah Tikva and then opened a Hebrew school for girls in Safed. In 1913 she joined Hapoel Hatzair and sat on its central committee until 1920.

In 1921 she helped found the Women's Workers Movement and served as its secretary. She worked for equal rights for women and for immigration permits for single women. She founded the Ayanot farm for training women workers near Ness Ziona, which became an agricultural school in 1943.

In 1949 she was elected to the first Knesset for Mapai and changed her surname to Maimon. She was reelected in 1951, helped initiate the Women's Equal Rights Law, and lost her seat in 1955. She died in 1973.
